October 9-18, 2020
Ten days of celebrating Lee's Summit's unique creativity, vibrancy and resiliency.
Let’s face it, COVID-19 has put a huge damper on most of the iconic fall cultural programs that our community has come to love and enjoy each year, but this doesn’t mean that the creativity has to stop. Arts and cultural organization’s everywhere are finding ways to safely regroup and reinvent their programming for our current environment. We know that your situation is no different. And we want to help. While larger events have had to take a pause there are still many opportunities for smaller events to happen in reconfigured and unsuspecting places.
Small events like what, you ask? So glad you asked! Well, what if we did…
- String quartets in a park? You bet!
- Outdoor painting workshops? Totally!
- Jazz in a parking lot? Bring it on!
- Virtual behind-the-scenes tour? Yes, please!
- [Insert your great idea here.]
It’s important that our residents don’t forget about all of the amazing arts and cultural programming going on around our city. That’s why Lee’s Summit Arts Council and Lee’s Summit Tourism are teaming up to launch this exciting new community engagement initiative. We’re encouraging our creative community to keep creating, and to remind our residents and visitors that there’s so much to explore in Lee’s Summit!
